After having Gruver Cooley complete remodeling projects on their lower level and secondary bath, these Vienna clients were inspired to completely remodel their dated master bath.  When they gave Interior Designer, Cathleen Gruver, free rein in their design, she immediately focused on the large bay of windows which went largely unnoticed in the original layout.

 

Using the natural light and the theme of connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces, Cathleen reorganized the space so that an MTI stone soaking tub provides a focal point which emphasizes the windows, frees up space and provides the owners a relaxing spot to enjoy the view. Two single vanities were converted to a double vanity painted in a sage green to complement the exterior and not pull any attention away from the view.  This provides a smooth visual flow into the directly connected master bedroom. The extra space created by these changes allows for a slightly enlarged curbless open shower with tall glass sides. Monochromatic natural marble tile from TileBar continues the connection to nature, and upgraded accent tile in the shower niches offer maximum visual interest for a minimal investment.

 

Other changes include new Brizo plumbing fixtures, Caesarstone quartz countertops, custom-designed shelving at the end of the cabinet for towel storage, heated floors and updated lighting. Finally, the room is painted in Benjamin Moore's calming "Silken Pine", as another nod to the room's connection to the outdoors. In the finished room, one's eye naturally moves among the beautiful focal points throughout and rests on the showpiece tub in the bay of windows, which inspired this gorgeous bath make-over.
